Project Assistant Level- I and Level II in NBRI Lucknow

Eligible candidates are invited for Interview for the purely temporary positions of Project Assistant Level- I and Level II in the following areas for the sponsored project tenable at NBRI:-
I. Area: Biodiversity Assessment Prospect ion and Conservation of Plant Resources
PROJECT ASSISTANT LEVEL I

Position No. 1
Essential Qualifications
Ist Class B.Sc. with Botany as one of the main subjects or 1st class B.Sc. in Agriculture with Horticulture or Plant Breeding and Genetics as one of the subjects/paper.

Desirable Qualification
Experience in assisting research team in survey, collection and documentation of plant resources and knowledge in Computer applications.

Job requirement
Assistance in plant resource survey, collection and documentation and their maintenance in herbarium and plant germplasm conservatories.



Position No. 2

Essential Qualifications
Ist Class B.Sc. in Computer Science/BCA/PGDCA.

Desirable Qualification
Knowledge of PC Troubleshooting, Installation of operating systems, Device Drivers etc.

Job requirement
Assistance in digitalization of plant data bases.



Position No. 3

Essential Qualifications
Ist Class B.Sc. with Botany/ Zoology/Chemistry /Biochemistry/Biotechnology as one of the main subjects.

Desirable Qualification
Experience in working in biological/biochemical laboratories.

Job requirement
Assistance in laboratory work in Biochemistry, biotechnology/plant tissue, spore or microbial culture.

II. Area : Lichen
PROJECT ASSISTANT LEVEL II

Essential Qualifications
1st class M.Sc. Botany/Environmental Sciences/Applied Botany/Life Sciences

Desirable Qualification
Experience in collection and identification of lichens

III. Area: Plant Introduction
PROJECT ASSISTANT LEVEL II

Essential Qualifications
1st class M.Sc. (Ag.) Horticulture/Floriculture/Botany

Desirable Qualification
Maintenance of germplasm collection of ornamental crops; working knowledge on computer (MS Word/Power Point etc.)

For Area I on 08-02-2008, at 11:00 AM in the Conference Room, (Genetic Block) NBRI, Lucknow

For Area II on 11-02-2008 at 11:00 AM in the Conference Room, (Genetic Block) NBRI, Lucknow

For Area III on 15-02-2008 at 11:00 AM in the Conference Room, (Genetic Block) NBRI, Lucknow

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

1. Upper age limit not exceeding 28 years as on the date of interview. Age relaxation for SC/ST candidates 05 years and OBC candidates 03 years as per Government of India instructions.

2. The Application form will be provided at the venue on the date. However candidate may download the application form in advance from the website www.nbri-lko.org. At the time of interview candidates should bring attested copies of certificate of all passed examination starting from matriculation, date of birth, caste certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC) and experience certificate etc.. Tentative mark sheets/certificates and result awaited will not be considered. All eligible candidates are requested to be present at venue on date 30 minutes before the scheduled time for necessary formalities.

3. Mode of Selection: Through Interview. However, if large number of candidates turns up, a Screening test comprising of multiple choice objective questions will be held for short listing the candidates for interview. The short listed candidates will be interviewed by Selection Committee and based on their performance in the interview; a panel of recommended candidates will be formed (valid for 03 months only). The panel shall be utilized as and when the requirement arises in the respective field in the sponsored project in the relevant field/area. Candidates have the option to interact in Hindi/English before the committee.

4. The positions are purely temporary on contract basis and co terminus with the sponsored projects. Further the above stipend is tentative and the same will be finally decided based on the emoluments in the sponsored project.

Candidate who strictly fulfill the eligibility and possess the degree/mark sheet in the aforesaid subjects only should turn up for floating interview to avoid any inconvenience.

No TA/DA will be admissible.
